I know it's late, but I want to share Aiden's first memorable (for him, anyway) Christmas with you. We have been so exhausted because we've been to Jackson every weekend since Dec. 10th. WOW! That's a lot! We started off Christmas Eve by going to Anthony's Dad's to visit a bit. We saw Mimi and Papaw, Maw and Paw and Grandma Jane. Aiden really enjoyed that visit. We then went back to my parents' house and the whole 'Bridges' (mom's family) clan came over for food and dirty santa. Aiden had a blast and loved opening all his gifts. Later that night we opened our family gifts! I got an Ipod Nano and Anthony got a very realistic remote controlled Jeep and a beautiful globe made of real gem stones. At midnight, Santa arrived and brought Aiden TONS of toys. It's amazing how much help Santa needed getting all those toys taken out of the box and put together. I thought he would just wiggle his nose or something, but he woke up me, Anthony and Mom to help him. By 2am we were in the bed, anxious for Aiden to wake up and see the plethera of toys in the living room. Aiden got up at about 7am and I carried him into the living room. He immediately discovered the ball-popper, before noticing his great big tunnel! He was so excited to crawl all throughout the tunnels and into the ball pit in the center of the tunnels. We got some cute pics of this. He loved all his toys! He was SO cute. I thing one of his favorite things was the wooden rocking chair that Santa got him. It is too cute. He climbs in it and rocks all by himself. He's so precious! So after that we all got dressed and went back to Anthony's Dad's to open gifts. Then we headed to Granny's for lunch where we met Granny, Aunt Betsy, Uncle Jessie, Clark and Nanna. Aiden played a lot there, too, and got some cute toys. After that we headed to Mamaw Self's house for Christmas dinner. It was SO good! There we saw Mamaw, Aunt Susan, Uncle David, Aunt Rebecca, Bryan and Andy, along with Mom, Dad, and Tashy. Aiden had a blast. After a long day, we went back to mom's and crashed. Monday we headed back to the coast after we visited with Amanda, Jacob and Connor and Katie and Brendan (along with the Rowan brothers, Scott and Matt). It was a great Christmas!
Aiden and I headed back the next weekend to go to our cousin Candace's wedding on New Year's Eve. It was a really sweet wedding! Ashley and I sang during the ceremony. It was really cool. I pulled a little something in my stomach that Sunday, so Mom graciously offered to keep Aiden for the week so that I could rest and get some stuff done around my house. That Monday before I left I had another sonogram. (If you've read my blog you probably already know this.) There's evidence to show that we are probably...now don't get too excited because we still have to get this confirmed...are having 2 GIRLS! I'm SO excited!
So we went back up to get Aiden this past weekend and had a big treat! Anthony Uncle Johnny and Aunt Cindy from Virginia and his Uncle Ernie and Aunt Jackie from Arkansas came into town for the weekend. We haven't seen them in about a year, so it was a great visit. Aiden really took to his Uncle Ernie and I've got some cute video of them playing with the ball together that I'll load up this afternoon when I get home.
Whew! So now we're home and back to our routine. Aiden did well at Daycare yesterday and then today he screamed bloody murder and didn't want me to leave him. I curse having to work, but I know that if I didn't we couldn't provide a good life for him. So I wipe my brow (and my eyes) and leave him in the capable and caring hands of Ms. Karen and Ms. Amanda at Twin Oaks. That's all I can do.
That said, pray for us as we prepare to increase our family and as I learn to handle Aiden's separation anxiety. Pray that it will get better and pray that Aiden will feel lots of love and attention for the rest of my pregnancy. My fear is that he won't understand why Mommy can't hold him or why Mommy can't play with him. That's tough.
Ok, I love ya'll! I'll try and update more frequently.
Love,
MandyeComments:Add a comment:
