Twins and a Tot

January 2005

We had a really great visit last weekend with Mom (Neener Joan), Tashy (my sister Ashley) and her friend Lindsay, Aunt Janet Evans, Aunt Jennifer Banks and little cousin Katie Banks, Cousin Donnis Lingle and Mamaw Hilda Bridges (mom's mom). Aiden got to meet Aunt Jenny for the first time and got to meet his cousin Katie Banks. Katie is our miracle baby, born at 26 weeks, and is such a joy. She will be one in April. I found out that I was pregnant with Aiden on the day Katie was born. They are almost exactly nine months apart! We went to the outlet mall and out to eat at TGI Fridays. We really enjoyed our visit.

This week Aiden has had an ear infection. We saw the doc on Tuesday morning and he is on an antibiotic and an antihistamine to make him better. He is in good spirits and we're watching him closely. Hopefully he will be fine by next week.

Mom is coming next week to visit for a while. Aiden will enjoy visiting with Neener again. He is growing everyday! Last night, or, rather, this morning at 4am, Aiden gave his mommy a great present: a real smile! It was amazing! Daddy got one today :-) We are just enjoying him so much...we are blessed.

Aiden and I will be staying in Jackson from Thursday, February the 10th until that next Sunday...I think it's the 20th. Anthony will be coming up on the weekends. Hopefully we will be able to spend time with everyone who wants to see us while we are in town.
Thanks for all your prayers and support!

At the request of all who have read it so far, I'm posting the lyrics to "Lullaby for Aiden," the song I wrote for him while I was pregnant. These lyrics are framed in Aiden's room and I hope to record this for him one day soon so he can hear it when I'm not around. Hope you enjoy!

    "Lullaby for Aiden"

When you close your eyes tonight, know that you are loved,
And you are protected by angels from above.

For when you close your eyes you can go to any place.
Visit fairy wonderlands; soar through time and space.

Climb up every beanstalk; ride on every train,
Chutes and Ladders everywhere, it’s your turn; it’s your game.

As your dreams play on, Dear Child, know that you are loved.
You’re building castles in the sky with angels from above.

Dream of endless ice cream on a hot, hot summer day,
Playing baseball all day long, stealing second base.

    Jeep rides on the weekends, summers out of school;
Beach trips with the family; Disney World is cool.

And though you are a big boy now, still, you will be loved,
And each night protected by angels from above.

One day you will find that all your dreams are coming true,
And you’ll finally figure out what you’re meant to do.

Peace of mind, happiness, it’ll all make perfect sense.
All the pieces of your life will find a perfect fit.

But if you find that you are scared, never fear, My Love,
Know that you’re protected by angels from above.

Now when the time has come and a family you will start,
You will hold that little child close to your own heart.

You’ll find yourself remembering all your dreams and fun,
And you will call the angels to protect your precious one.

When you close your eyes tonight, know that you are loved,
And you are protected by angels from above.

Well, it's been almost a month since we were blessed with Aiden's arrival. Neener Joan (my mom) left on Thursday January 6th, so I've been flying solo during the day since then. Anthony gets home around 5:15 and enjoys spending time with Aiden at night. We are settling into this routine.

Aiden has been growing in leaps and bounds! We have been struggling with the dreaded "Reflux," but Aiden is a trooper and is doing very well. He is a very happy baby! We have a great pediatrician who is working with us to make his life easier, which also makes our life easier. Believe it or not, he is already sleeping most of the night and weighed 10lbs 14oz. 22" long at his doctor visit yesterday! My baby is getting big so fast! He is such a joy to all!

This past weekend we had a great visit with Nanna Flowers (Cindy) and Mimi Flowers (Chris). Aiden also finally met his aunt Olivia! He took to her instantly. We expect more company this coming weekend when aunt Tashy (my sister, Ashley) comes to visit.

Aiden and I will be in Pearl staying with my mom and dad the second weekend in February and Anthony, Aiden and I will be up the third weekend in February staying with my mom and dad. I am easing back into singing and will be practicing (and possibly performing some) with Dad and Ashley on these two weekends. Please give us a call and come by and visit while we are in town. We'd love to see everyone!
    Take care and God Bless!
